The government has recently decided to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel, bringing some relief to the public amid rising fuel prices globally. Petrol price has been reduced by Rs 2.7 per litre, its new price is Rs 247.03 per litre. The price of high speed diesel has decreased by Rs 3.40 per liter while the prices of light diesel and kerosene have decreased by Rs 1.30 and Rs 3.57 per litre.
The decision is aimed at reducing inflationary pressure on consumers, providing some financial relief at a time when global fuel prices are on the rise. Earlier reports had hinted at the reductions, which were expected to come into effect on October 1.The move is seen as a timely measure to ease the burden on consumers, who have been facing high fuel prices due to fluctuating international markets.
